Alinda Dimitriou was born in Athens in 1933 and studied Directing at the Stavrakou School. Alongside organizing film screenings during the period 1970-1975, he participated in seminars on the short film, and wrote and translated articles in film magazines. He is the author of the book Filmography of short films (1939-1979), while in 1992 he published the Dictionary of short films. He directed over 50 documentaries. In 2008 he received the Audience Award at the Documentary Festival in Thessaloniki for the documentary “Birds in the Swamp”. Her trilogy, “Birds in the Swamp”, “Life on the Rocks” and “Girls in the Rain”, which was particularly loved by the audience of the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, highlighted through testimonies and documents the combativeness and strength of the female soul.
