Benedict Webb is a 22 year old Sussex based director and writer. Tender, sensitive, and reserved stories around male vulnerability and family are at the forefront of his films.
In 2019, Benedict wrote and directed 'Next Week', a short which explored a tender relationship between a young man looking after his grandad struggling with Alzheimer's. The film was funded and produced for Channel 4 Random Acts. This was followed up with 'Soft', a short which explored toxic masculinity and mental health. The film earned significant praise in the digital and festival world, since amassing almost 150,000 views online. In 2022, Benedict finished 'Toast', a heartwarming film set in lockdown about an unlikely friendship between two neighbours. The film stars EastEnder's Roger Sloman and is set for festival release and online distribution later this year.
Benedict co-founded production and distribution company Room 18 Films with Harry Walters, an online platform for independent, narrative-driven work which emphasizes exciting upcoming directors, writers, and producers.
Since the age of 18, Benedict has accumulated a varied portfolio of narrative shorts, short form work, music videos, and documentaries.
