He studied Electronic Engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería. From 1988 to 2020, he was a professor at the San Antonio de los Baños Film School in Havana, Cuba. He was the sound engineer for the documentary feature “Hotel Terminus” by Marcel Ophüls, which won the Oscar for Best Documentary. He won the Coral Award for Best Sound at the Havana Festival for the feature film “Dioses” by Josué Méndez. As a filmmaker, he has directed 11 documentary short films, 2 medium length-films, and 2 feature films: “Desde el lado del corazón” and “De las Bimbambum al Tropicana,” dedicated to his dear friend Jorge Vignati.
