Zachary Goldkind is an experimental/narrative filmmaker & programmer, based in Toronto, Canada. Zac is currently submerged in an MFA in Film Production at York University whilst working incessantly on his own projects, be it films or short-form writing. His studies orbit the subjects of aesthetic theory and image historicity, but his primary focus is on grappling with a marxist analysis of the heterogeneity in formalism, evoking affect theory, linguistics, and semiotic/semantic considerations throughout. Collaborating and engaging with artists and local filmmakers, Zachary’s intention is to help organize networks engaging in support through critical thought, whilst igniting earnest dialogue between filmmaker and viewer. This accomplished by means of the work he platforms and, of course, with his own projects.
