What Is the Story About?
Performances?
The performances of all the actors in Flames Season 3 are suitably adequate to efficiently essay the characters assigned to them. None can be called extraordinary; similarly no performance is mediocre either. Ritwik Sahore and Tanya Maniktala are average in their roles. Shivam Kakar as Pandey is a scene-stealer of sorts, while Sunakshi Grover as Anusha is good.
Analysis
The Viral Fever’s Flames Season 3 has none of the refreshing wholesomeness and lighthearted comedy that made the first two seasons of the show such a delight to watch. In its place is a tedious, contrived drama that is too engineered to be fun. It seems as if a change in streaming platforms (from MX Player earlier, to Prime Video now) has affected the mojo of the series as well.
The chemistry between the two leads, Ritwik Sahore and Tanya Maniktala — a crucial part of the show to begin with — is majorly missing in this season of Flames. As a result, any and every exchange between them seems forced and artificial. Even Pandey’s jokes, which regaled viewers in the first two seasons, are flat and humorless in Flames Season 3. Even the conflicts that arise in the story are stale and done to death in countless movies and shows before.
Any taking forward of the story happens only in the final two episodes of the season, and then too, only just. With the way this season has panned out, it is better that the makers end the show as soon as possible, instead of subjecting viewers to another boring, barely engaging season of the same old stuff.
Besides the aforementioned, there’s very little to talk about on Flames Season 3. Watch it only if you’re a die-hard fan; or else, give it a wide berth.
