What Is the Story About?
Jhansi’s season two resumes from where it left previously. Jhansi (Anjali) is in Goa following a trail to learn about her past. She meets another gang led by Billu and Ameesha. What does she reveal? Did Jhansi get a closure related to her past and what happened to her present family forms the series’ primary plot.
Performances?
As the entire series seems to be shot at a stretch, there is no change or drop in intensity in the act of Anjali. The show is the same, with a little more action and less drama.
Still, one can feel a missing depth as the series progresses due to the weak writing and predictable characterisation. Half of the time, Anjali appears confused; the rest, she has action blocks and questions to ask.
Chandini Chowdhary has less screen time but a mysterious presence. It is one aspect that holds the interest in the proceedings even though everything else is very routine. When it comes to acting, we see more of an emotion which goes well with her persona. There could be more depth, but given everything else, it fits well.
Analysis
Thiru directs Jhansi. The second season continues the story of Jhansi and reveals more information about her past and confrontation with the enemies.
Jhansi season two is a unique case. It is simultaneously as bad as the first part and also better in a way. The terrible writing and mostly subpar acting continue as before. However, the screenplay is a little less messy, making the proceedings easy to follow, but it makes the narrative extremely predictable.
The problems start as the series resumes, and the flashback commences. There is nothing fresh here apart from the growing tension between the two female leads. The main story related to the past is utterly predictable.
The action is neatly placed in between to make things palpable, but there is only so much that can be salvaged when the content is lacking.
The four episodes consist of multiple flashbacks from different people. It clears most of the confusion related to Jhansi. So, for anyone who has seen the first chapter, the second one is a cursory watch that could settle things down.
The whole narrative builds to a showdown at the end. It is meh, but we know something else is unanswered. Season two ends with that twist. So, we have to wait again for the third chapter to see what happens.
Overall, Jhansi season 2 is a more predictable and routine revenge saga with a twist in the tale at the fag end. If you have seen the first season, give it a try. To those who haven’t, nothing would make sense if you haven’t seen the first. Ultimately, if you like revenge dramas with action, even if predictable, give Jhansi a try or stay away.
Other Artists?
The many actors seen previously make their presence known in season two as well. Actors like Nithu RS, Suresh Chakravarthi, and Raj Arjun get more screen time than others. Everyone overacts and is over the top in their portrayals. Adarsh Balakrishna is wasted. The rest act as fillers.
Music and Other Departments?
Sricharan Pakala’s music is alright. He is on a comfortable terrain and delivers functional work. Arvi’s cinematography should have been better, given the backdrop of action and the different locations the story moves. Anthony’s editing is okay. The writing is poor, as mentioned previously. It lacks depth and often comes across as corny and unintentionally comical.
