What Is the Story About?
The story of Zindagi Reset deals with multiple people affected by digital life. The undercurrent theme is how technology has changed their lives for good or bad.
Aditya Chopra (Amit Pachori) and Richa (Nidhi Mahawan) are typical middle-class couples struggling to make ends meet. Aditya has been trying his luck to be an actor for years, leaving the family burden entirely on his wife. Yash (Girijesh Patel) has a happy life with a lovely wife and daughter. Zeeshan (Akshat Irani) is a playboy who likes to score with every girl he meets or likes.
How are the lives of all these people intertwined eventually? What’s the role played by technology is the series’ basic premise.
Performances?
Amit Pachori heads the ensemble cast of Zindagi Reset. He is the one who connects all the stories. His arc is the best, but the execution is disastrous. Amit also doesn’t help the cause by coming across as a Salman Khan lite.
Nidhi Mahawan playing Amit’s wife, is another relatable part ruined by overaction. The poor capturing of the emotional moments further dent the impact.
Girijesh Patel and Akshat Irani have roles with a decent arc among the rest. There is nothing new in their stories, much like the rest, but at least they have some soul searching and reflection scenarios that work. Akshat especially has a decent end.
Analysis
Adi Irani and Siva Rindani jointly direct the series Zindagi Reset. It is a lengthy one with ten episodes, but it packs many stories that are easily identifiable into a single narrative.
The problem with Zindagi Reset is as clear as the clear, bright blue sky right from the first frame. It is the direction and the making. The execution is silly even when it touches on relatable themes. The production values are shoddy.
With such tackiness and low-grade presentation, the actors included, one is never into the story in the first place. Only those who go beyond them can find something the makers want to convey. But, it is an impossible task.
If anyone can still go through the series, it is for only intriguing elements related to Aditya. How did his life get the turnaround and connection with the rest of the stories? Once that is revealed and highly predictable, there is nothing much barring one final twist in the tale. It is alright.
Overall, Zindagi Reset packs many relatable issues with technology at a basic level, but the insipid execution makes it a disaster.
Other Artists?
A few known actors from the past, like Raju Kher, Ashwin Kaushal, Shilpa Gandhi etc., are part of the narrative. But, they have hardly anything worth mentioning. They mostly fill up the screen and are wasted.
Music and Other Departments?
Pradeep Kotnala and Rahul Nair’s music and background score match the tacky vibe of the series. It is forgettable. As mentioned earlier, the production values are terrible, and the cinematography (Suhas Rao, Jigar Khan, Sachin Lokhande) makes it even worse. The extreme close-ups, the frames, everything has a short film look. Unfortunately, many shorts will also be better than what is offered here. Subhodh Sudhakar Narkar’s editing is decent considering how bad is everything else. There is a semblance of flow and no confusion despite multiple stories stitched up as the narrative. The writing is bland and laughable in most parts.
