1917 is an award winning British war film that is partly based on an account told to the director by his grandfather. The story revolves around two British soldiers during World War I, Lance Cpl. Schofield (George MacKay) and Lance Cpl. Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman), who are sent on an almost impossible mission. In a race against time, they must travel across dangerous enemy territory to deliver a message that could potentially save 1,600 soldiers in two battalions, including Blake’s own brother.
