Archer is an adult animated spy sitcom which was created for FX back in September 2009. The series takes a satirical look at other spy movies and television series and creates a brilliant mix of spoof and madness into the genre.
The series follows the exploits of Sterling Archer, an international spy and seven other dysfunctional secret agents (just like Archer). Sterling is a typical narcissistic womanizing protagonist, who is too self sub-absorbed for his own good. His team of agents include – his mother (and boss) Mallory Archer, his ex-girlfriend Lana Kane, Cyril Figgis, Cheryl Tunt, Pam Poovey, Ray Gillette and Dr. Algernop Krieger. This band of agents are part of the International Secret Intelligence Service or ISIS (See what they did there?).
This show has garnered positive reviews from both critics and audiences and has gone on to win three Primetime Emmys and four Critics Choice Awards. All the other 10 seasons of Archer are streaming on Netflix also.
