The Trial of the Chicago 7 American Movie Is Streaming Online Watch on Netflix, Release Date 16th October 2020. This upcoming legal drama written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, follows the Chicago Seven, a group of anti-Vietnam War protesters who protested at the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago which was infamous for its turn from protest into riot. Initially set to be released in theaters by Paramount Pictures on September 25th of this year, the rights for the film were sold to Netflix which is set to be released digitally in October. This film is based on the story of the Chicago Seven, which was previously the Chicago Eight (after the eighth man, Bobby Seale was found to not have take part in the protests), who were charged by the federal government with conspiracy, inciting to riots. These seven members were anti-Vietnam War protesters who protested during the 1968 Democratic convention in Chicago with 15,000 other people marching with them. This quickly became a riot after police attempted to stop the protest with both verbal and physical abuse (by beating people and using tear gas), to which the protesters replied in kind (by throwing rocks and stones). The film follows the protests, the riots and the subsequent trial of the infamous incident.
