Just Another ‘Money-Making Device’ By These Tamil Actor-Directors!

The consideration of commercial success and reducing the content value of some movie franchises are going beyond their bearable limits. The second part of the 2020 Tamil movie ‘Mookuthi Amman’ will be loading soon and will be officially announced by the crew.

‘Mookuthi Amman’ (Eng. Nose-ring goddess) Part 2 will be a comedy-fantasy flick directed by Sundar. C who is popular with the regional audiences for the ‘Aranmanai’ franchise. The previous part was written, directed, and led in acting by RJ Balaji which was a commercial success.

The movie is expected to be produced by Ishari K Ganesh for Vels Film International, and Nayanthara with Vignesh Shivan for Rowdy Pictures respectively. The official details regarding the technical department are yet to be announced. However, actor Nayanthara will be reprising her role as the goddess and it will attempt to provide the same template in a different story.

Even though the first part had interesting storytelling and a different approach, the thing that worsens the future is its installments which might be unlimited, and the Tamil industry has been a victim of the issue. For example, the ‘Kanchana’ or ‘Muni’ franchise by Raghava Lawrence was great in its first part, but its value diminished after its cliché installments. The same happened with Sundar. C’s ‘Aranmanai’ franchise, where both are horror-comedy movies.The first part of the movie’s story has been a loose inspiration for a recent Malayalam movie named ‘Kallanum Bhagavathiyum’ (Eng. The Thief and The Goddess) which didn’t do well in both theatre and OTT platforms.

As per the credible reports, the second part of the movie is expected to have a different cast from the first one which is the only alteration seen in the template. Recent movies of Sundar. C have not been fruitful content-wise but only that of economic returns.
