Meiyazhagan, starring Karthi and Aravind Swamy was released today in the theatres. The movie, though was directly clashing with a mega film Devara Part 1; still the audience showed quite an enthusiasm towards it. The film has an expectation to do a great opening of 4.5 crores and as of now the audience seems to be taking an interest in it.
People are appreciating the emotional angle the movie brings along with it. People are especially talking about the on-screen bonding between Karthi and Aravind. Many claimed the film brought them to tears. Karthi’s comic gags in between further escalate the bonding between the characters. Aravind’s role has also been hailed by audiences as one of his best performances over the years. Ultimately the film has impressed people as a feel-good film that makes you relax and enjoy the time you are spending in watching the film in a serene manner.
But then, many have also pointed out the inconsistency in the film. The first half of the film flows like a ‘clear stream’ but the second half loses the consistency and becomes a drag to watch. When the first half is engaging and interesting to watch, the second half becomes a bit boring. Some elements of the plot connect deeply whereas some don’t. Especially, the parts where conversation becomes serious, the film loses its engagement.
The film will prove to be another milestone film in the career of Karthi which is already in its prime. His last films like Ponniyin Selvan series, Kaithi etc. And considering the fact that the filming of Kaithi 2 is to commence soon, this film will benefit him in the next project as well. The film will also benefit Aravind Swamy who has been failing consistently in his past few projects, this film will serve as a comeback in his filmography.
Overall the film has proved to be a decent watch and is expected to be a hit over the subsequent days. It was earlier expected the film wouldn’t gather much attention due to the release of Devara on the same day, but on the contrary the film has gained a subsequent amount of attention.
