Surya Sethupathi, son of legendary Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi has till now made his appearance in several movies. He got some popularity as an actor after the films like Sindhubaadh and Viduthalai series. Every time though he was hidden behind the stardom of his father. In November this year, the actor is coming out as the lead actor of a film marking his individual presence in the industry.
Phoenix, directed by renowned stunt master Anal Arasu will be released on November 15th, marking the official debut of Surya in a lead role. The film will be very special for him and he would hope for its success. It is an action-filled film where Surya plays the role of a professional fighter and the film contains everything that can lure in audience towards it. But there is an issue that can prevent the film from attaining success.
Kanguva starring Surya and Bobby Deol will be released on November 14th. The film apart from these two, has a fascinating supporting cast as well consisting of Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramanium, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley etc. The film expects a nation-wide welcome and the big budget for the movie makes it achievable as well. The makers are quite confident of the film to dominate the box office and break many records.
Kanguva, which is originally made n Tamil, will obviously dominate the Tamil theatres if it has the potential to become a national hit. In that case, Phoenix, which releases on the next day of Kanguva’s release, will have no chance of even making some decent profit, let alone making its mark in the box office.
Hence, the time for Phoenix’s release will be very critical as the film might be ignored by the audience due to the domination of Kanguva in the theatres. Surya’s debut as a lead might go unnoticed with the charts hailing the name of Kanguva in the time of its release.
