Tamil action thriller Blast is set to make its digital debut after a successful run in theatres. The film, which stars Arjun Sarja, Preity Mukhundhan and Abhirami in lead roles, was released on May 28, 2026, and received a positive response from both audiences and critics. It went on to become a major box office success, too.
Blast will most probably begin streaming on Netflix from June 25, 2026. While Netflix has not yet made an official announcement, the industry standard release model hints at the same release date.
Written and directed by Subash K. Raj, Blast tells the story of Rajaram, a karate teacher who lives a simple life with his wife Neelaveni and daughter Nila. Their lives take a dramatic turn when they become entangled with a powerful corporate syndicate. Forced into a dangerous situation, the family uses their martial arts skills to protect themselves and expose a major scam.
The film also features John Kokken, Vivek Prasanna, Arjun Chidambaram, Dileepan, Pawan and Vinod Sagar in important roles. This is quite a quirky film because it is based on how characters protect themselves with martial arts skills. Given it was successful on the big screens, it may very well impress people on the OTT too. Let’s wait to see if that happens.
