It was precisely the 5th of September 2024.
The movie is now streaming on Netflix India.
Yes, it is bad timing. The film is barely profitable given the humongous budget it was made on but the timing on OTT is not very welcoming.
Just think about it, it’s not even been 1 month exactly and the movie is already available to stream. This is bad given the potential the film had. But it looks like the makers took this decision due to an underwhelming response that arose due to poor content.
However, do you know that The GOAT can get into severe legal trouble?
Yes, try to remember Indian 2. The movie was targeted by the Multiplex Association of India due to the release of the Hindi version of the film in less than 8 weeks. It is compulsory for producers to release the Hindi version of the film or any Hindi film after a period of a minimum of 8 weeks.
Sadly, the movie has been released in Hindi version too and there has to be some legal trouble just like Indian 2.
The movie anyway did not have a lot of potential in the Hindi market but they should take care of such issues, especially if they had an example like that of Indian 2 so recently.
