Considering the media and entertainment industry right now, one thing is clear: the one means marketers have started relying heavily upon is stealthily edging fans towards insanity by making them wait for days. Not only is this being done for music shows, but even films!
Take Jr NTR’s highly awaited ‘Devara: Part 1’, for example. The anticipated action-drama directed by Koratala Siva, has already taken the world by storm ahead of its release. With over 50,000 tickets sold and around $1 Million garnered in pre-sales in the USA alone, the film is not only gearing up for a massive box office debut within the country, but also around the world.
Considering the fact that ‘Devara’ is pan-India film, primarily shot in Telugu and Hindi, but also dubbed in Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam on top of its star-studded cast that also includes Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan, the film has fans waiting like crazy.
The theatrical rights for the Hindi version of ‘Devara’ have been sold for nearly $6.5 Million, in addition to the $18 Million it has generated from non-theatrical rights, including digital, satellite, and music rights.
Keeping in mind that the film is yet to be released in a week, these numbers are mind-boggling. Which is to say, it only makes sense that fans will go absolutely nuts when the tickets go on sale for real.
Fingers crossed in hopes that the sites don’t crash!
