‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ is running in theatres and is already breaking records and making history on day 1. The film has now become the highest day 1 opening Hindi film ever with a net collection of ₹72 crores.
But we aren’t here to talk about all that’s in the limelight. We are here to discuss about Fahadh Faasil whose character has probably been made a joke in ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, if netizens reactions are to be go by.
People over the internet do not seem to be happy about how his character has been dealt with in the film and think that it is not at all fair to the incredible talent that he is. Some also believe that Fahadh should refrain from doing such petty characters and maintain his hard earned legacy.
There’s one other thought that Fahadh was underutilised in ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ only to let Allu Arjun shine through the birghtest. Well, technically speaking this point of view is subjective and most of our films are actually written and made with heroes at the center. So if that’s what comes through in the film, it is probably justified.
But then again, apart from this particular thought, it does feel from people’s reactions that they rightfully expected a much better arc for Fahadh Faasil’s character in the sequel since it was very well built up in ‘Pushpa: The Rise’.
As mentioned before, fans are urging Fahadh to not do such supporting or villain roles, but it seems a little too much. Every actor has a mix of titles in his filmography that is a reflection of his talent, versatility and range. Adding a box office blockbuster to that list is never bad and above all FaFa is an intelligent actor and he definitely knows what he is doing.
I guess there will be an interview in the future where Fahadh Faasil will reveal how dissapointed he was with the potrayal of his character in Pushpa 2.
