Bobby is the director and after a theatrical release on September 20, the film has now decided to make its way to Aha on October 11, 2024.
This one was a shock to everyone, as in the process a goat managed to absolutely tip off an entire village. So funny, spot-on is the voiceover of the goat by Tharun Bhascker — as unique a perspective on the movie there could have ever been.
This is all about beautiful emotional village drama but Gorre puranam is not a normal kind of village drama, This bizarre story is conceptualised by Suhas and it revolves around a goat.
That is an absurd concept, this goat led to a riot between hindus and muslims because the goat didn’t want anyone killing it,and yes, that is not exactly just “a goat on the lose” but still the commentary on how media and politics can blow something out of proportion.
As has been the case with most films, Suhas does not disappoint and even though he isn’t seen for much onscreen in the first half. They wanted him to be a son of the goat- those crying babies. Other people really enjoyed that this movie avoided any of that sentimental drama and still maintained that weird satirical feel.
If you are in the mood for something quirky and featuring a mad mash of humour along with being mildly meta, Gorre Puranam on Aha could be the show to add to your watchlist.
