The teaser of Vishwambhara just dropped. Being such a high-budget fantasy film with one of the biggest stars of Telugu Cnema, it ought to make headlines. However, the clout it is gathering is not even remotely positive. The movie has been accused of plagiarism all over by the fans.
The opening shots of the teaser have been called out to be a direct ripoff from the teaser of Infinty War, but with worse VFX. And that is just the beginning. The comments have made rampant comparisons regarding the character and creature models being taken from AVATAR. Some are comparing the geography being comparable to Pandora.
Other comparisons include a certain tower being compared to scenes from Rings of Power. The footsoldier Chiranjeevi fights in the teaser look no less than the sand creatures from the Prince of Persia franchise.
The movie is being thwarted for having terrible VFX. However, to form an opinion about the quality of the teaser to that of a finished product is senseless. While many are considering it to be a similar case to Adipurursh, the VFX will certainly have improvements in the postproductions. As far as the allegations of plagiarism go, it is to be seen how the story diverges the plots and makes a separate identity.
These are more likely coincidences than attempted plagiarism, as the people who are making the movies too would be aware of the similarities if we as an audience are aware of them. The idea of a visual to be appealing and appropriate to the setting dominates the creative process. There are some things that are objectively “cool,” and to deny that is just overruling the output. The pop culture is full of references and ideas; it is obvious that the ideas that work will occur to different people at different times.
