Considering the plethora of regional industries in the country, an achievement for even one stands to be a big win for Indian cinema as a whole. A primary reason for this is that despite a majority of regional industries not being mainstream, they continue to sometimes even outshine content that otherwise appeals to the masses.
Along those lines, is a recent milestone achieved by the Telugu industry. ’35-Chinna Katha Kaadu’, a Telugu-language family drama starring Nivetha Thomas, Priyadarshi Pulikonda, Vishwadev Rachakonda, and more in leading roles, has been selected to represent the Telugu Cinema industry at the International Film Festival of India!
The title follows a young mother who faces some challenges when one of her sons unfortunately fails to secure passing marks in his school exams. This ignites events that test the entire family’s resilience and unity.
Apart from ’35’, the Indian Panorama at the IFFI also features titles like the Randeep Hooda starrer ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mammootty’s Malayalam-language dramas ‘Aadujeevitham’ and ‘Bramayugam’, respectively, as well as ‘Jigarthanda DoubleX in the Tamil-language category.
The Malayalam-language category also includes the widely appreciated ‘Manjummel Boys’ and ‘Level Cross’. ’35’ is also accompanied by the mega-star-studded ‘Kalki 2898 A.D’ in the Telugu-language category!
