The last week of this month is expected to have two highly anticipated flicks for the Telugu Film industry. However, the similarities in both efforts are visible due to their various factors. How can their clash impact the box office? Can it be able to amuse the audience?
‘Mechanic Rocky’ is expected to be a romantic action comedy-drama written and directed by Ravi Teja Mullapudi. The effort will be bankrolled by Rajani Talluri under the banner of SRT Entertainment and actor Vishwak Sen is expected to play the titular character of the film.
The storyline seems to have a character-based narrative that will be driving the plot and the main selling point for the execution. Also, the technical wing is having bigger names despite their translucent effort in working on the project.
Manojh Reddy Katasani will handle the cinematography, Anwar Ali will oversee the editing, and Jakes Bejoy will be composing the music and background scores, where his efforts were remarkable in movies like ‘Saripodha Sanivaaram’ and ‘Taxiwaala’.
‘Lucky Baskhar’ is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language drama thriller film written and directed by Venky Atluri. Bankrolled by S. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments, Fortune Four Cinema, and Srikara Studios, the flick talks about the titular banker’s mysterious riches which is set in the 80s. Actor Dulquer Salman is playing this titular character.
The technical labour includes cinematography by Nimish Ravi, editing done by Naveen Nooli, and music composed by G V Prakash Kumar respectively.
Coming to the matter of description, both movies have a similarity in storytelling, defined character arc, and are obvious in having a character-based narrative. Also, both movies have actor Meenakshi Chowdhary as the female lead, and both movies are expected to bring some relevance to such a role for the male character perspective writing.
Subsequently, the ‘same female lead factor’ will be also found in the upcoming Kannada movies ‘Bagheera’ and ‘Bhairathi Ranagal’ which will have actor Rukmini Vasanth.
Furthermore, the similarity in the story idea of Lucky Baskhar with the same actor’s 2021 Malayalam Movie ‘Kurup’ has the same cinematographer that is believed a coincidence.
However, the similarity can be either a boon or a challenge that should be able to give a positive prognosis on such creative efforts.
