Yash Raj Films has unleashed the trailer of the most anticipated Indian movie of the year, War 2, starring two of the icons of cinema Hrithik Roshan & NTR who are locked in a ferocious, head to head relentless battle that will be an action spectacle for audiences in theatres!
The trailer broke the internet and received unanimous love as the first true blue pan Indian film featuring two mega-stars from the North and the South. What has also gone viral from the trailer is the oath that both Hrithik and NTR take as a pledge to save India at any cost.
Shridhar Raghavan, the head writer of the YRF Spy Universe franchise, reveals, “Adi was very clear that he did not want a single plot point of War 2 to be given out in the trailer. So, we created a fictional oath that the agents take during their induction into the deadly covert task forces as they prepare to sacrifice everything to protect our motherland at any cost. This oath in a way mirrors the dramatic, intense story of this film. With War 2, and with every film, we are giving people more glimpses into the shadowy world of the YRF Spy Universe — who really are these agents, what links them, what are their origin stories?”
He adds, “As the trailer reveals, Hrithik and NTR are mirror images of each other, both extraordinary, ferocious soldiers bound by the call of duty to protect India — but then, why are they battling each other? What twist of Destiny led to this crazy situation where these two juggernauts are on an explosive collision course? The idea was to build the intrigue, play on it.”
Shridhar further elaborates on one of the key elements mentioned in the trailer – ‘India First’.
“INDIA FIRST was always the driving force of each and every agent in the Spy Universe, what bound them together. Here we articulate it clearly as a motto, because it has a very crucial role to play in War 2, it is the very heart and soul of the film. From now on, India First will be the war cry of every agent in the YRF Spy Universe.”
YRF is celebrating 25 years of cinematic legacy of two of the icons of Indian cinema, Hrithik Roshan & NTR, through War 2 promotions. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, this YRF Spy Universe’s film is set to release in Hindi, Telugu & Tamil on August 14th in cinemas worldwide! It also stars Kiara Advani as the female lead.
