Mrunal Thakur made her Telugu debut with blockbuster film ‘Sita Ramam’ (2022) alongside Dulquer Salman and went on to star in more Telugu films like ‘Hi Nanna’, ‘The Family Star’ and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. She has had a good run in the Telugu film industry till now and is all set to take it forward with Adivi Sesh’s ‘Dacoit’.
On the occasion of Sesh’s birthday today, makers of ‘Dacoit’ unveiled that Mrunal will be the leading lady for the film. Her character has been described as one who betrays him and such is the complexity of her role in the film that she is not only his love but also his enemy.
The posters launched for the announcement feature the leading duo in intense and rugged looks with anger and sadness in their eyes. Looks like it’s going to be one intense, revengeful love story packed with action.
Mrunal has replaced Shruti Haasan in ‘Dacoit’ who probably had to leave the film due to some scheduling issues. While latter’s fans a re a but disappointed with this, there are many others who are elated with the former’s entry i to ‘Dacoit’, given her great Telugu filmography.
‘Dacoit’ is directed by cinematographer Shaneil Deo, in his directorial debut. The film follows the story of two former lovers who are forced to reunite for a series of robberies that is bound to alter their lives.
The film’s screenplay is penned by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo with guidance from Abburi Ravi. ‘Dacoit’ is being shot in Telugu and Hindi simultaneously and is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda via SS Creations and Suniel Narang through his Suniel Narang Production.
