The box office has been submerged under chaos recently. Whether it is re-releases breaking their own records, or people being frustrated at the utter lack of watching options, it has been a turbulent time for cinemas across the country.
Perhaps the only big title being released throughout the country this week is Jr NTR’s highly anticipated and awaited action drama ‘Devara: Part One’. With a star studded stellar cast including Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, the film has already caused quite the storm with its pre-sales not just in India, but around the world.
That being said, while the film is being marketed with a supposed ‘pan-India’ tag, it is not all that. That is because, for the most part, while it is a big deal for the masses, it is also not across numerous states. And this is where regional films come into the scene. However, rather confoundingly, not a lot of regional movies, slated to release this weekend, had cropped up on BookMyShow until recently.
And now, nearly 20 regional titles will premiere alongside ‘Devara’. Titles across multiple languages like ‘Meiyazhagan’ and ‘Petta Rap’ in Tamil, ‘Koon’ in Malayalam, ‘Sanju’ in Kannada, ‘Sathyam Sundaram’ in Telugu, and more will be released this weekend.
However, despite this diverse slate, will ‘Devara’ succeed in reigning victorious over all of these features, combined? Stay tuned to find out soon enough!
