The biographical movies presented in the Indian Film industry are mostly about the good-image visionaries and successful stories. The concept of giving prevalence to the ‘tale of the villain’ is also not a novel thing in today’s context.
The inspirations and references from various popular efforts are carefully and properly utilized by most filmmakers today. Sometimes, it also becomes a glorified justification in the ‘art of copying’. But what if a blend of a ‘Villain’ biopic and movie references is created? Can it be the best combination or rather the opposite?
‘Lucky Baskhar’ is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language drama thriller film written and directed by Venky Atluri. The film is produced by S. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments, Fortune Four Cinema, and Srikara Studios.
The storyline is about the titular banker’s mysterious riches which is set in the 80s, which has closer similarities to Martin Scorsese’s 2013 black-comedy drama, ‘Wolf of the Wall Street’, which deals more with the sales and stock market where Leonardo DiCaprio plays the lead.
Both movies have a similar story background as well as a defined character arc and are obvious in having a character-based narrative. Also, most of the Indian audience might have watched this Scorsese Flick. Does this factor cause the watchability issue in this Venky Atluri film?
Lucky Bashkar is expected to have a connection with the Indian audience concerning the location and background where the story occurs. The effort will be bankrolled by S. Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments, Fortune Four Cinema, and Srikara Studios. Actors Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ayesha Khan, Hyper Aadi, and P. Sai Kumar are expected to play important roles in the film.
