Prashanth Varma is a well known man in the Telugu industry. But, he became a rage soon after Hanu-Man. People were amazed as to how he could deliver such a good film on a low budget but he did. The movie did exceptionally well and we somehow started looking for what the man brings next.
We have extensively covered The Mystery of Moksha Island on Disney+Hotstar. It was released just last weekend and the show has some really interesting things to look upto. For instance, the performance of Ashutosh Rana or the overall setting of the show is really good.
However, the series fails exactly beyond that. The story and characterisation is not upto the mark according to the standards of 2024 and with an international exposure, things have certainly spiced up more than ever.
Prashanth Varma should have worked more dedicatedly as a writer because we know that he has a potential to do far better. Given the upcoming merger, The Mystery of Moksha Island is one of the last true originals by Disney+Hotstar and perhaps a better execution would have done wonders but it couldn’t happen.
The dubbing was problematic and we sensed it right in the trailer. But the biggest villain of the show is not a character but the writing.
Anyways, all the best for the future endeavours of Prashanth Varma.
