The 2024 Indian Telugu-language movie “Saripodhaa Sanivaaram”, directed by Vivek Athreya, starring Nani, S. J. Suryah and Priyanka Mohan in the lead roles, made its OTT debut on Netflix on September 26.
This movie is now ranking at no 1 in Netflix and holding a 6th place on Global stage with 2,500,000 views, grossing Rs 100 cr worldwide.
This high budget Telugu movie garnered its fair share of audience, in the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam industry which was its initial target audience.
But then how is it ranking number 1 on Netflix ?
First and foremost we have to keep in mind that Netflix is the largest streaming platform worldwide.
The main reason behind its OTT success is Nani’s fantastic marketing style. After the movie ended its journey from the theatres, it started promoting its OTT release over social media.
Social media is now a great marketing tool, as it can reach every audience from every part of the world.
Nani shared posters on the movie with the caption, “Until now you have only seen two eyes of @NameisNani… are you ready to see his third eye?”
Which made the audience interested about the movie, and as it is releasing in five different languages which are, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. It is fathomable for every action genre fan frick.
With his great marketing strategy now it garnered 2,500,000 views.
With that being said it is fair to say that a little bit of smart play paved the path for “Saripodhaa Sanivaaram” OTT success.
