SonyLIV, known for its high-quality streaming of major sports tournaments, is facing a wave of strong complaints from viewers over its poor coverage of The Hundred, a prominent, fast-paced, and innovative cricket league in England and Wales. For many Indian cricket fans, the chance to watch The Hundred is a highlight of the sporting calendar. However, for a growing number of SonyLIV subscribers, the experience has been less a celebration of cricket and more a source of escalating frustration.
According to some fans, SonyLIV’s broadcast abruptly switches to highlights from an old match in the middle of a live game. This completely disrupts the flow and makes no sense, especially when people are paying specifically to watch the live action.
On top of that, there are numerous technical problems, mainly related to video and audio quality, along with persistent lag issues. Viewers expect a smooth, high-quality stream, and these constant glitches feel like a step backward. There are also complaints about advertising: ad breaks are long and sometimes appear right in the middle of a delivery or a crucial play. In a fast-paced format like The Hundred, such interruptions kill all the excitement and momentum.

@SonyLIV Please show post-innings interviews at The Hundred instead of just going in for commercials
People want to hear what players have to say mid-innings— Girish Menon Photography (@wildlifegiri) August 9, 2025
Just bought the @SonyLIV subscription to watch The Hundred and it's pure torture.
Not a moment without lag, would watch the T20 Blast on Watcho and it was totally smooth even though it's a 3rd Party.
Please help cancel this subscription @SonySportsNetwk

SonyLIV has previously done an excellent job with live cricket streaming. For instance, it was praised for the high-quality broadcast of India’s tour of England in 2021. Many fans even wished SonyLIV had streamed the Indian team’s recently completed tour of England (the Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy 2025) instead of JioHotstar.
For a long time, SonyLIV has also excelled at streaming popular professional football leagues.
While a temporary drop in quality is always a possibility for any streaming platform, SonyLIV’s strong track record with other major tournaments makes these recurring issues with The Hundred particularly surprising. The brand has built a reputation for polished cricket and football broadcasts, earning the trust of a large and dedicated audience.
Going forward, the key for SonyLIV will be to address these user complaints directly and transparently. Simply put, viewers want a reliable, uninterrupted stream that delivers on the promise of live sports. Stay tuned for more updates.
