Rajkumar Hirani is one of the biggest and most successful filmmakers in Bollywood. Over the years, he has delivered blockbuster films like 3 Idiots, PK and Sanju. His films have not only performed well at the box office but have also connected strongly with audiences across generations. That is why his move to the OTT space with the upcoming web series Pritam and Pedro has created a lot of interest.
The cyber crime drama will mark Rajkumar Hirani’s first major streaming project. More importantly, the series will also introduce his son Vir Hirani as an actor. In many ways, the project is being seen as a launchpad for Vir’s acting career.
The series follows two police officers with completely different styles of solving crimes. Arshad Warsi plays an experienced old-school cop, while Vir Hirani plays a young tech expert who uses digital tools and cyber knowledge to crack cases. Their contrasting personalities are expected to drive the story.
Interestingly, actor Vikrant Massey was initially expected to play the younger officer. However, after casting changes, Rajkumar Hirani reportedly felt Vir suited the role well.
Pritam Pedro will be released on JioHotstar on 3rd July 2026.
