We think that Binged has been one of the most vocal media companies to scream how good Netflix India is in terms of documentaries. They are pushing the ceiling up and they are doing much much better than all the other streaming platforms put together.
No wonder Netflix India deserved every drop of the praise.
But that was true until 2023 when we got “Curry and Cyanide”.
After that, let’s take a look at the prominent documentaries they made.

They are all celebrity documentaries. They are the same celebrities whom we already know about.
There is nothing new or exciting about it.
We ask, “Who doesn’t know Hrithik Roshan and his family?”
Netflix India has stopped looking at the raw and rooted stories from India and that’s why we are not getting enough good documentaries. It is a tragedy because other platforms simply don’t know how to make documentaries.
There was just one platform doing well in this field and even they are very very disconnected from the stories that made them so good at their job.
