4 Reasons Why We Can’t Wait For Prime Video’s ‘Jai Bhim’ To Drop!

4 Reasons Why We Can’t Wait For Prime Video’s ‘Jai Bhim’ To Drop!

Southern star Suriya’s ‘Jai Bhim’ is all set for a pre-Diwali release on Amazon Prime Video on the 2nd of November. The social legal drama that’s the latest to go the OTT way, features Suriya in the lead with Rajisha Vijayan, Prakash Raj, Lijo Mol Jose, Manikandan and Rao Ramesh in supporting roles. Bankrolled by Suriya and Jyothika under their production banner 2D Entertainment, the film is written and directed by journalist-turned-filmmaker TJ Gnanavel (of ‘Kootathil Oruthan’ fame).

What makes the film all the more interesting is that it is based on true events from a 1993 legal battle, with Suriya in the role of a lawyer fighting for the rights of a tribal group. As part of the four film deal between the actor’s production house and Amazon Prime Video, ‘Jai Bhim‘ is all set to stream soon and we’ve put together 4 reasons why we can’t wait for it!

1. REAL-LIFE CHARACTER
Suriya essays the lead character of Advocate Chandru, who fought for equal treatment and justice for the oppressed. The actor earlier said that he was mighty impressed with the lawyer and feels lucky to play the part of an advocate, who is nothing short of a revolutionary. The story of ‘Jai Bhim’ is the story of a man, who never charged a single penny to fight for social causes. A tale that not only truly deserves to be told, but amplified to reach far and wide.

2. SOCIAL IMPORTANCE
In Suriya‘s words, “This movie is all about the political injustice and Dalits being a soft target for the police. A journey of a lawyer, who is determined to bring justice to a lower caste woman, who is deprived of her basic rights. He used the law as his weapon”. The social importance of the plot itself is reason enough to catch the film as soon as it drops. ‘Jai Bhim’ is a hard-hitting tale on caste system, that will get viewers thinking and also spreads the message of the power of law.

3. COURTROOM DRAMA
Our obsession for courtroom dramas never seizes to end and here comes another one, straight from the shoulder. ‘Jai Bhim’ makes for an intense, engaging watch, that’s evident from the trailer. A fight between good and evil, perfect for a festive watch, will keep viewers hooked on till the end with its twists and turns. This powerful drama with heart-wrenching emotions and dialogues, is sure to leave fans at the edge of their seats!

4. AMAZON PRIME VIDEO!
Yes, the streaming giant itself is a reason for viewers to watch this hard-hitting drama. Amazon Prime Video has been picking up great content across genres and languages, making it a one-stop digital destination. Their recent slate of blockbusters include ‘Shershaah’, ‘Sardar Udham’, ‘Soorarai Pottru’, ‘Bhramam’, ‘Bell Bottom’, ‘Thalaivii’, ‘Home’, ‘Ponmagal Vandhal’ and ‘Sunny’, among others. Their record is such that fans automatically want to watch all that premieres on the streaming platform, with an expectation of it being worth their time.
