4 Things You Missed While Watching Netflix’s My Name

In case you guys didn’t know already, there is another Netflix Korean series (after ‘Squid Game’) that has been topping the charts recently – and that series is ‘My Name‘. A revenge thriller noir series that is half ‘Kill Bill’ and half ‘The Departed’, it has quickly become a must-watch original TV series that is currently streaming on the OTT platform. The web series has some brilliant acting, direction and editing, but its writers are unsung heroes. With some clever work, they have managed to add scenes that do not make sense at the beginning, but they do at the very end. So in this article, find the four things that you missed while watching Netflix‘s ‘My Name’:

A Fighting Prodigy
Yoon Ji-woo is a character who is shown as a fighting prodigy from the very start. Choi Mu-jin recognises this talent and has her sent to the gym to train with the other gang members. But missed the fact that she has been training in mixed martial arts at a young age. We see shown her trophies and certificates at the very beginning of the series to show that she has been working on her talent for some time now.

Dong-hoon’s Return
We now know why Dong-hoon returned to his daughter. Even if he got caught by the cops, he would not be incarcerated for long since he was an undercover cop himself. He cared more about his daughter’s peace of mind more than his undercover work so he most likely returned to tell her what he was actually doing with Mi-jun.

An Uninvestigated Death
Ji-woo finds out that her father’s death is going to go uninvestigated – which makes sense. The Narcotics branch knew what happened to him – Dong-hoon/Song Jun-soo got caught while being undercover and Mi-jun killed him. But as the detective said, they had no evidence or any eye witness to pin the crime on him or his lackeys.

Ji-woo Misses Her First Opportunity
Ji-woo got an opportunity to kill her father’s murderer, herself – she just didn’t know it at the time. Mi-jun had handed her a knife, most likely prepared to lose his life that night, had she had the will to kill him in cold blood.
