Can’t pin point on what makes them so appealing, but their crime shows are a piece of work. Maybe it’s the gloomy weather that adds up to the spookiness, maybe the and their accents or the irresistible history of age old things. Who knows? Here we have curated a list of UK based crime shows that you can binge watch and not even regret it.
Sherlock Holmes:
No one can say no to the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes. The show is purely based off of the characters created by the amazing writer Arthur Conan Doyle and consists of 4 series, with a total of 13 episodes. The show follows the journey of Sherlock and his partner Watson. Chilling mysteries, drama, comedy, witty comeback, and one can expect all these from the show making it a definite must watch
Peaky Blinders
Peaky Blinders is another highly rated period crime drama that follows the journey of the Shelby Crime Family and is based in Birmingham, taking over the city one at a time. The theme song, the long trench coats, the cigarettes, their significant hair cut is what sets them all apart. With 5 seasons and a total of 30 episodes, this definitely should go into your list.
Bodyguard
With our very lovely Stark boy (Game of Thrones reference) leading the show, Richard Madden plays the lead in this show called Bodyguard. A total of 6 episodes make the entire season and one season was enough to put it up on the radar that made it loved by all. The story follows Madden’s character, a war veteran and his journey as a bodyguard of one of U.K’s top politicians. Follow his journey and binge watch all the 6 episodes.
Broadchurchactors
Another superhit crime drama series is Broadchurch that follows the lives of two detectives and the crimes they get involved in. The show has an ensemble cast and follows a single plotline, while slowly drifting towards other stories. There are 3 seasons and 24 episodes in total. The plotline can get you hooked very easily and you won’t be able to move away until you know everything.
Criminal: UK
An anthology series of police investigations and interrogations that has a psychological pattern to it and stars some of the most famous actors. It has a brief 2 seasons of 3 and 6 episodes but once you get hooked, you can’t leave the screen. Criminal: UK is a part of a show called Criminal that has been produced in Spain, France and Germany. Who knows, maybe you will end up watching all the four kinds.
