The political thriller, narrated in a multi-linear fashion, revolves around the story of three young men (played by Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, and Vivek Oberoi) from different walks of life whose lives connect after an accident on Kolkata’s Howrah Bridge.
Phir Milenge (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Sony LIV, MX Player)
Helmed by Revathy, the critically acclaimed film followed the life of an advertising executive (Shilpa Shetty), who is unfairly fired from her job after testing positive for HIV. She takes the help of a young lawyer (Abhishek Bachchan) to fight her case. The film also featured Salman Khan.
Breathe: Into the Shadows (Streaming on Amazon Prime Video)
When the six-year-old daughter of Dr. Avinash Sabharwal (Abhishek Bachchan) is kidnapped by a mysterious man, he and his wife (Nithya Menen) go to great lengths to get his daughter back. But on his trail is the brutally efficient cop Kabir Sawant (Amit Sadh) who is battling his own demons from the past. The series featured one of Abhishek Bachchan’s best acts.
Bluffmaster! (Streaming on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Zee5, Lionsgate Play)
Perhaps an acquired taste, ‘Bluffmaster!’ is nevertheless a nicely executed film helmed by Rohan Sippy (Dum Maaro Dum, Criminal Justice). The crime comedy movie follows an expert conman (Abhishek Bachchan) who gets dumped by his girlfriend (Priyanka Chopra) and is diagnosed with a deadly disease. Soon, he meets an amateur conman (Ritesh Deshmukh) and decides to groom him, albeit with unanticipated consequences.
Dum Maaro Dum (Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
This Rohan Sippy’s stylishly executed film features Abhishek Bachchan in the role of a corrupt cop who makes it his mission to eradicate the drug smuggling network in Goa. The film also featured Bipasha Basu, Prateik Babbar, Ran Daggubati, and Aditya Pancholi in interesting roles.
