6 Facts You May Have Missed About Evan Peters’ Appearance On WandaVision

6 Facts You May Have Missed About Evan Peters’ Appearance On WandaVision

Disney+ Hotstar recently concluded its first Phase 4 project – The WandaVision series, on 5th March 2021. The series was well received by both critics and audiences around the world and has become the first and only successful television series in continuity with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), although we believe it won’t be long before the other MCU web series drop and receive similar reactions as WandaVision. Evan Peters was one actor whose appearance played a key role in hyping up the web series. There were also few facts about Evan Peters’ role in the series which many of you missed and a few facts you guys would have failed to miss. Some of these are basic easter eggs, references or callbacks from different projects, while the others will have huge implications on the MCU, moving forward. So check out these 6 facts you may have missed about Evan Peter’ appearance on the show:

Quicksilver

The actor who portrays Ralph Boh-ner – Evan Peters, has portrayed an MCU character, Quicksilver; only for the character to turn up in an X-Men film (which was owned by 21st Century Fox at the time). The MCU version of Quicksilver was portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Evan Peters appears as Quicksilver (albeit, a mind-controlled version) in this web series.
Yes, this fact should be known even by the most basic fans.

Kick-Ass

The mention of Kick-Ass was definitely a deliberate one. Kick-Ass is a Superhero movie which featured both Evan Peters and Aaron Taylor-Johnson – the two live-action portrayers of Quicksilver. The multiple mentionings of the movie was an unmistakable nod to the sleeper hit action flick.

Quicksilver’s Hair

Pietro Maximoff (portrayed by Evans) chose to wear the costume of his comic book counterpart for the Halloween episode. But he matched it with a very iconic hairstyle from the Marvel Universe. This new hair style wasn’t the original look from either of the two live-action portrayals of Quicksilvers and although it resembled the hairstyle of a certain mutant from the Weapon X program, it was meant to be a nod to the comic book version of Quicksilver.

No Possible Crossover With Sony’s X-Men …Or Is There?

Now that we know that Evan Peters wasn’t actually portraying Pietro, instead he was mind controlled by Agatha to act as Wanda’s brother so as to get her to spill her secrets. The character’s actual name is Ralph Boh-ner which means that Pietro didn’t come to Wanda from another dimension, rather this Boh-ner person was already living in Westview, New Jersey. So this route to bring in X-Men is closed off (through this series, we mean), but with the movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness coming out next year, there is still a chance for Marvel to introduce 21st Century Fox’s X-Men.

Marvel’s X-Men Reboot?

With the way Evan Peters was brought on to the show, it was evident that this version of a Quicksilver was going to be fan service rather than an important plot point. Which is still fine, but this probably means that there will be no mutants coming over from the 21st Century Fox Studios jumping ship into Marvel and instead the X-Men could very well be rebooted from scratch, for the MCU.

Agness’ “Husband”

Many of you may have been wondering about the mystery husband Agness kept mentioning, but he never once introduced himself to Wanda or Vision (or their kids).

Turns out Agness’ “husband” was Ralph – Ralph Boh-ner. We find this out when it turns out that Agness had come to Ralph’s house and taken over his home and mind for nefarious purposes.

WandaVision is currently available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
