Adarsh Gourav Makes India Proud as Part of the 2021 Spirit Awards!

By Binged Bureau - Jan 27, 2021 @ 03:01 pm

Adarsh Gourav has received a lot of praise and appreciation for his role in The White Tiger on Netflix. This film is seen as an acute study of the systemic discrimination that takes place in rural India and also shows the financial divide between the rich and the poor in a country where you can find people at both ends of the extreme.
Adarsh Gourav just added another feather to his cap. He has been nominated for the best male lead in the 2021 Spirit Awards and to give you a brief view about how much of an achievement this is let us take a look at the other names in that list.

The other nominees include stars like Riz Ahmed for Sound of Metal, the late Chadwick Boseman for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Steven Yeun for Minari, and Rob Morgan for Bull. Just being on a list with such stalwarts is a really big achievement and Adarsh Gourav has made the entire nation proud.

With OTT platforms coming into the fray one can also see several Indian titles being created on levels that can compete globally and Indians are slowly making their presence felt at such important international award shows.
Adarsh Gourav has previously played roles in titles like Hostel Daze but none of his other characters have been so dark and murky. In a cast filled with great names like Rajkumar Rao, Priyanka Chopra, and Mahesh Manjrekar he has certainly distinguished himself as a great performer.

The White Tiger has helped the industry uncover another hidden gem and that is the beauty of the OTT platforms. Netflix played a big part in helping the project take fruit and creating it on a much larger scale than what a traditional studio might have opted for.
