South Indian remakes are one of the biggest things in Bollywood right now. With loads of South Indian movies already on the brink of getting remade, another one has entered the arena right now. Bollywood is on the lookout for some great stories. It is trying to break the age-old stereotype of only having romantic movies. Remakes, movies inspired by real-life stories are a big deal at the moment and all of these seemingly are also working well with the audience.
Now, as we say a new remake has entered the arena, with that we mean the launch of the Hindi remake of the 2019 Tamil hit, “Thadam”. Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani have teamed up once again after their hit, Shahid Kapoor starrer “Kabir Singh” for this new remake. The creators have already found their lead for the remake. This movie will bring back Aditya Roy Kapur, once again in the action-hero avatar, after his hit “Malang”.
Besides Aditya Roy Kapur, Mrunal Thakur is the female lead of the movie. As per the buzz, it has been revealed that even though Mrunal Thakur is the female lead, she might not be the potential love interest of Aditya Roy Kapur’s character. The movie is yet to be titled and the creators will soon reveal the title for the same.
Early this year, the news was out that Sidharth Malhotra will be leading the movie, but he soon backed out and Aditya Roy Kapur was the one to be brought in. Aditya Roy Kapur will apparently be seen in a dual role in the movie and this will mark his first movie with a dual role character. The movie will be directed by debutant director Vardhan Ketkar. As for the original movie, it follows an action-filled, cat and mouse chase between the cops of the city and the identical twins who have committed major crimes and now are on the run.
The original Tamil movie that was released in 2019, was a massive mass entertainer and was considered a big hit. The movie starred Arjun Vijay in the lead. Murad Khetani after watching the original movie believed that this movie needed to reach even more people and he quickly bought the rights for the remake. Bhushan Kumar quickly joined him and brought in Aditya Roy Kapur to lead the movie. The movie will be produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios. The film is supposed to start filming in September.
