Neeraj Pandey‘s espionage drama Special OPS was one of the most enjoyable shows from last year. The Disney+ Hotstar show starred Kay Kay Menon in the lead as Himmat Singh who serves as a research analyst in Research and Analysis Wing also known as R&AW. The series went on to gain widespread acclaim from both the audience as well as the critics. But since, the story of it ended on a satisfactory note fans were wondering that if the show will have a possible second season.
Recently, Neeraj Pandey came up with an announcement that ‘Special OPS 1.5’ is in the works and it will tell the backstory of Himmat Singh. Since the release of the show, Kay Kay Menon’s Himmat Singh became a fan favourite character and with Special OPS 1.5 the makers will be focusing on the characters journey from his youth to maturity.
The shooting for Special OPS 1.5 began recently and the news arrives that Aftab Shivdasani has been included in the cast show. The ‘Masti’ actor has been around in the digital medium of entertainment with his thriller series ‘Poison’ on Zee5. And now he has been roped in by Friday Storytellers, the production company of Neeraj Pandey for the much awaited Special OPS 1.5.
It will be interesting to see him play a crucial role in the show. Apart from Menon and Shivdasani no other information about the rest of the starcast is out as of now. For those who haven’t watched ‘Special OPS’, the 8 part espionage thriller is available on Disney+ Hotstar VIP.
