The makers of much-awaited horror comedy franchise and Arya starrer ‘Aranmanai 3’ have confirmed an October 14th release, on the occasion of Dussehra. Written and directed by Sundar C, the third installment of the horror-comedy franchise features a huge ensemble cast of Arya, Raashi Khanna and Andrea Jeremiah in the lead, alongwith Sakshi Agarwal, Vivek, Yogi Babu, Kovai Sarala and Manobala among others. An update earlier today said that ‘Aranmanai 3’ had been given a UA certification by the censor board.
Bankrolled by Avni Pictures, the filming of ‘Aranmanai 3‘ was wrapped up a long time back and its release was long due, hence promotions of the film are in full swing. Incidentally, this film is the last film of late comedian Vivek. Reportedly, unlike the previous films in the franchise, ‘Aranmanai 3’ will see the male lead(Arya) playing the ghost.
Interestingly, post the recent Vijay Sethupathi self-clash, when two of the actor’s films, ‘Laabam’ and ‘Tughlaq Durbar’ released just a day apart from each other on 9th and 10th September respectively, here comes another one! Actor Arya too, will see a clash between two of his films on the same day, October 14th, them being ‘Aranmanai 3’ and the earlier announced ‘Enemy‘ alongside Vishal. The question remaining though is whether the two films will eat into each other’s profits, since both are theatrical releases.
The action thriller ‘Enemy’ is expected to be an out-and-out action movie that the posters promise and this Arya-Vishal duo film is one of the most anticipated releases of next month. Directed by Anand Shankar, the film features some heavy action sequences, stunts and great locales and is all set to give stiff competition to ‘Aranmanai 3’. It will be interesting to see the fate of the two Arya starrers, when both the Sethupathi films ‘Laabam’ and ‘Tughlaq Durbar’ haven’t garnered good reviews, the former having been declared a box-office dud. Sometimes, too much of something good can be bad, perhaps? Regardless, both releases are sure to pull crowds, so a slow theatre revival is in the offing.
