While we await the teaser for ‘Ponniyin Selvan: Part One’ aka ‘PS-1’ set to release at 6PM today, makers have unveiled the second look of Jayam Ravi as Arunmozhi Varman from the film to keep the fans engaged till then. ‘Ponniyin Selvan: Part One’ will release in cinemas on 30th September, 2022 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
As seen throughout the week the background remains the same for this new look of Jayam Ravi as Arunmozhi Varman who stands strong as a warrior wielding a spear as his weapon and not to forget those ferocious expressions.
Jayam Ravi plays the role of Cholan Prince Arunmozhi Varman, younger brother of crown prince Adithya Karikalan and princess Kundavai. With his great vision and statecraft he later went on to become the great Chola emperor Rajaraja Chola.
Revealing his second look from ‘Ponniyin Selvan: Part One’ Madras Tallkies wrote,

Written, directed and co-produced by Mani Ratnam, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is the story of the early days of Arunmozhi Varman who later became the great Chola emperor Rajaraja Chola I. The film is Ratnam’s dream project and has an ensemble cast of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Lal, Sarath Kumar, Jayaram, Vikram Prabhu, Prabhu, Ashwin Kakumanu, Kishore and Aishwarya Lekshmi among others.
Musical maestro A. R. Rahman will compose the music for the film. While Ravi Varman is handling the film’s cinematography, its editing is done by Sreekar Prasad. Allirajah Subaskaran via Lyca Productions is producing the magnum opus alongside Ratnam’s Madras Talkies. B. Jeyamohan has co-written the film.
Based on the eponymous 1955 novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy, the first out of two parts, multi-starrer pan Indian film ‘Ponniyin Selvan: Part One’ will release in cinemas in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada on 30th September, 2022.
