Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom is a spy thriller movie directed by Ranjit M Tewari. Recently the news were circling around regarding the release of the movie. Rumours suggested that the movie will be arriving on OTT platforms instead of the earlier confirmed theatrical release. It also suggested that the movie’s producers Jackky Bhagnani and Vashu Bhagnani were in talkshow with Amazon Prime Video to release the movie directly on OTT as their pre planned to release coincided with Akshay’s Sooryavanshi.
Fans were left disappointed with the “decision” of the makers to bring the much awaited ‘Bell Bottom’ directly to OTT platform. According to the trade people, the movie holds the capability to bring the audience back to the theatres and it wasn’t a good decision to let go of a theatrical release. With so much circulating around, a news also came that the OTT deal with the streaming platform has been cancelled and the movie will arrive on theatres only.
Now, producer Nikkhil Advani has come up and stated the much awaited fact for Akshay fans. He stated that ‘Bell Bottom’ is all set for theatrical release and is being directed by Ranjit Tewari. The release date isn’t finalized as of yet, but it is sure that the movie won’t be releasing on OTT.
This seems like a perfect decision for the film as well as the makers. Since Akshay is a bankable star and enjoys a huge fan following, ‘Bell Bottom’ will be bringing money for the producers nonetheless even if released in theatres. The main concern for them was that the theatres were operating on a maximum 50% occupancy, but now government has issued the statement to increase the occupancy in theatres which means that we’ll be seeing more of theatrical releases in the future.
