ALTBalaji and ZEE5 are gearing up to release one of their most-awaited web series, Class of 2020. It is a sequel to the popular 2017 series, the similarly-named Class of 2017. Binged brings you all the info you need to know about Class of 2020.
The series is created by Vikas Gupta, of Lost Boy Productions for the streaming platforms. It is a coming-of-age story of a bunch of youngsters that are classmates. Of course, as is the norm in every peer group, the bunch is made up of diverse characters with different quirks. The narrative touches upon the various issues that affect youngsters, right from love, relationships, break-ups, to FOMO, YOLO, peer pressure and teenaged angst. The overall tone of the series is lighthearted and refreshing.
Class of 2020 has a huge ensemble cast of popular young artists, most of whom have cut their teeth in youth-centric shows such as MTV Splitsvilla and Ace of Space. Rohan Mehra, of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame, and Chetna Pandey play the leads, along with Jatin Suri and Nibedita Das in pivotal roles. The rest of the supporting cast is made up by Palak Singh, Isha Chawlaa, Zoya Chatterjee, Shivam Babbar, Mazhar Khan, Prakruti Mishra Abhishek Rajan, Pallavi Mukherjee, Alam Khan and Sushant Tanwar.
An interesting inclusion in the cast is Nausheen Ali Sardar, of Kkusum fame, who will make her digital debut in the series. Nausheen plays a single mother who shares a disturbed relationship with her teen daughter.
And now for the crucial bit of info, that is the release date…well, as per reports in the media, Class of 2020 is poised to release on 4th February 2020, though the streaming platforms haven’t said so specifically.
