Afsos, the quirky black comedy cum suspense thriller from Amazon Prime Video that everyone was eagerly waiting for, failed to make an appearance on its designated premiere date on the streaming platform, which was 17th January.
Despite several pointed barbs and questions aimed at Amazon Prime Video regarding Afsos’ no-show, the OTT platform chose to remain stoically quiet on the subject.
But all that is in the past, and all is forgiven, coz Amazon Prime Video today dropped a new streaming date for Afsos, which happens to be 7th February! Along with the date of release, the platform has also released its soulful title track in the soft velvety tones of ace singer, Arijit Singh.
So all of you out there who’ve been waiting to binge-watch Afsos, mark your streaming calendars for 7th February!
The upcoming series has created quite a buzz among digital audiences for two reasons – its quirky premise and delectable cast. Afsos is about a suicidal man who gives out a contract to a contract killer for his own killing, and even goes as far as to choose the manner of his killing – by shooting. But then he changes his mind midway and is chased all over town by the determined killer who has the record of never backing out from a contract. An immortality angle adds intrigue to the show.
Headlined by Gulshan Devaiah and Anjali Patil, what makes the series delectable is the inclusion of a raft of performers with a penchant for deadpan humour, the likes of Dhruv Sehgal, Jamie Alter, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Danish Sait, and writer of Afsos, Anirban Dasgupta.
