It’s a jackpot time for Amazon Prime Video and also the fans. Amazon Prime Video has been up on its game for a long time now. The streaming platform has over the past year acquired the streaming rights to some of the biggest South India blockbusters. Now, Prime Video has become a home for all regional blockbuster hits and it looks like it isn’t stopping anytime soon. Amazon Prime Video looks like it has got the deal of the century and is heading towards another massive success story with this fresh piece of news.
Amazon Prime Video today announced the release of not 1, not 2, but 4 Tamil movies, which will be released throughout the coming four months starting from September. Interesting fact, out of all this, Suriya’s much-awaited next “Jai Bhim” is also going for a direct-to-OTT release and is one amongst the four movies to be released. The similarity between these four movies? All of them are produced by Suriya and Jyothika, under Suriya’s production banner “2D Entertainment”.
The four-month marathon will start with the release of “Raame Aandulam Raavane Aandulam” which stars actors Vani Bhojan and Ramya Pandian in the lead. The movie is directed by debutant director Arisil Moorthy and is supposed to be a female-centric film. The release date for the same will be announced soon. The next movie coming up in October is a sibling story “Udanpirappe” starring Jyothika, M. Sasikumar, Samuthirakani in the lead. The movie is directed by Era. Saravanan. The movie is based around 2 siblings and their different ways of thoughts and thinking and despite that how they are connected through the bond of love. The release date for the movie is again yet to be announced.
The 3rd movie up for release in November is Suriya’s much-awaited “Jai Bhim”. The movie will see Suriya in the avatar of a respected lawyer. The story apparently is based on a real court battle that was fought back in 1993 by lawyer Chandru. He fought for the justice of a woman from the Irular tribe. The movie, like his last, will definitely be an interesting and inspiring one for the fans. The movie is directed by Tha. Se. Gnanavel and stars Manikandan, Lijo Mol Jose, Rajisha Vijayan, Prakash Raj, along with Suriya leading the movie.
The fourth in line is a fun and awesome story, whose hero is definitely the four-legged furry pup that has already stolen the show by its appearance in the poster itself. The movie is titled “Oh My Dog” and is directed by Sarov Shanmugam. The movie’s leading cast includes Arun Vijay, Vijayakumar, and Arnav Arun Vijay. The movie too is yet to reveal its date.
With these 4 films in stock, Amazon Prime now gets more loaded and stronger for the second half of the year. Many fans have hailed this decision of Suriya’s despite the fact that the movies would have enjoyed massive success in the theatres. But in times like this, no one can be sure of anything, hence everyone’s praising Suriya for such a bold decision. It would be interesting to see how this deal between Suriya’s production 2D Entertainment and Amazon Prime Video, pans out to be.
