Gehraiyaan, featuring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, and others in important roles is one of Amazon Prime Video‘s flagship direct to OTT releases. But for some strange reason, the OTT giant is putting very little effort into the promotional campaign pertaining to the Shakun Batra directorial.
Not so long ago, there was a whole lot confusion regarding the OTT release date of the film as Amazon Prime took forever to announce the premieres date. After facing flak on social media, the OTT platform then announced that the film will be made available for streaming from 11th February.
What surprises the most is Amazon Prime’s agonizingly indolent stance when it comes to Gehraiyaan’s promotions. Amazon hasn’t even unveiled the trailer of the film yet, much to the dismay of the fans and followers.
Gehraiyaan has a big star cast and with an effective promotional campaign, it will garner the attention of OTT audience. But Amazon Prime Video is least bothered about the same, for reasons best known to them. When you have an exciting film, featuring a widely known actress like Deepika Padukone in the lead role, why not promote it to the best of your capabilities? Only Amazon Prime Video can answer this question for now.
Gehraiyaan is already languishing with absolutely zero buzz and Amazon Prime’s pedestrian stance is not helping the cause one bit. This sure is one ridiculous way to kill a film even before its release.
