What is with women and them being left behind by their men to clean up the mess? Another movie with this premise will premiere online on Amazon Prime Video, with the name, “I Am Your Woman”. The movie releases on Amazon Prime Video on December 11, 2020. The movie focuses on how a woman survives after her husband disappears. The premise is similar to Disney Plus Hotstar‘s “The Undoing”, and we are already done with the topic.
We get it – the story shows the stronger and wilder version of the woman when she has to take things up on her shoulders. But can’t that be shown while the husband is there? I mean, why do we have to wait till the husband disappears, and she has to pick up a gun to protect herself? The movie clearly shows two women putting up fights, but while we see one woman already having an idea about everything, the main lead is shown as being naive, innocent and who has no idea about the wrong being done.
The issue with such concepts is that they want to show women with husbands that they don’t need to care about anything and since the husband is there, he will take care of everything. The story of I Am Your Woman revolves around a similar premise. A clueless wife who only knows that her husband is ‘thief’, all of a sudden gets a wake up that she needs to be on the run as her husband has betrayed his partners and they are on the look out for not only the husband but the harmless wife too.
I Am Your Woman stars the multiple Emmy award-winning actress, Rachel Brosnahan, Frankie Faison, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Bill Heck, Arinze Cene in lead roles. The movie is a crime thriller and drama. I Am Your Woman looks really interesting from the trailer, and the women in it are badass. But it will be interesting to see how it is presented differently from similar stories and films.
