Apple TV+ has renewed its much acclaimed unscripted series ‘Dear…’ for a second season. This inspiring series comes from Emmy and Peabody Award winner R.J. Cutler. ‘Dear…’ on Apple TV+ is inspired by Apple’s groundbreaking ‘Dear Apple’ spots.
Coming to Apple TV+ later his year, second season of ‘Dear…’, will debut 10 new installments, with each episode spotlighting and profiling internationally recognized leaders, including:
1. Viola Davis – Academy, Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress and producer
2. Selena Gomez – Multi-platinum recording artist, actress and producer
3. Jane Fonda – Two-time Academy Award-winning actor, producer, New York Times best-selling author and activist
4. Ava DuVernay – Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award-winning filmmaker
5. Billy Porter – Emmy, Tony and Grammy Award-winning actor and singer
6. Andre Leon Talley – Former Vogue creative director and journalist
7. Sandra Oh – Golden Globe and SAG Award winner, and Emmy Award-nominated actress
8. Laird Hamilton – Renowned waterman
9. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar – The NBA’s all-time leading scorer and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient
Apple TV+‘s ‘Dear…’ follows an inventive and cinematic approach to biographies of the most iconic figures in society today by using letters written by those whose lives have been changed through their work. The first season of ‘Dear…’ featured Oprah Winfrey, Gloria Steinem, Spike Lee, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Yara Shahidi, Stevie Wonder, Aly Raisman, Misty Copeland, Big Bird and more.
The docuseries has been produced for Apple by Matador Content, a Boat Rocker Company and executive produced by Cutler alongside Jane Cha, Todd Lubin, Jay Peterson and Donny Jackson.
Second season of ‘Dear…’ comes after the critically acclaimed debut of Apple and Cutler’s global smash hit documentary ‘Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry.’
