Check out the official synopsis of Physical S2 released by Apple TV+:
“Season two finds our hero Sheila Rubin (Byrne) having successfully launched her first fitness video only to encounter some new and bigger obstacles on her path. She is torn between loyalty to her husband (Rory Scovel) and the values he represents and a dangerous attraction to someone else. And since she’s no longer the only game in town, she finds herself having to outrun some fierce new competitors on the road to building a full-fledged fitness empire.”
The above synopsis makes quite clear that we will witness some new faces in the forthcoming sophomore entry. One of them will be The White Lotus fame, Murray Bartlett. He is rumoured to portray one of Rubin’s competitors and a handsome fitness trainer in Season 2.
The show takes place in 1980s San Diego. And Sheila Rubin (Byrne) serves as our protagonist. She embarks on a voyage of self-discovery with the help of aerobics. The show functions as a blend of drama and dark humour.
Apart from Rose Byrne, Physical’s cast has Rory Scovel, Geoffrey Arend, Paul Sparks, Lou Taylor Pucci, Ashley Liao, Ian Gomez, and many more. The first instalment also consisted of 10 episodes and garnered a mixed-to-positive critical reception. Despite the leading lady’s winning performance, the show’s plot and various character arcs faced criticism. Season 2 will come out on June 3. Stay tuned for more updates.
