Zee5 Tamil is all set to launch the first promo of ‘Survivor‘ Tamil tomorrow at noon, for which they have roped in actor Arya. The makers just took to social media to share the news. The Tamil version of the highly successful international show by the same name, is touted to be the biggest competition to the Kamal Haasan hosted reality show ‘Bigg Boss’. This show is expected to be a treat for adventure lovers and the makers have found the perfect actor for the launch. Actor Arya, who is currently basking in the success of ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’ is known for his rugged looks and looks like the perfect launch weapon to get this show rolling.
Hosted by Action King Arjun, the format will remain similar to that of the original show, where 16 contestants will have to stay on a tropical island where they would be provided with minimal resources. The show will be shot in the Zanzibar Islands in Africa for 90-100 days, with the contestants having to perform tasks allotted to them, similar to the Bigg Boss show inside a house. Although, given the nature of the show, these tasks will test them mentally and physically, deciding the winner based on elimination. Apparently, the contestants and host Arjun have all left for the island destination and the shoot is to begin in a few days.
The tentative list of contestants roped in for the show are actor Saran Shakti (of ‘Vada Chennai’ and ‘Netrikann’ fame), stuntman Besant Ravi (also seen in ‘Chennai Express’), actress Anikha Surendran (of ‘Queen’ fame), actress Srushti Dange (of ‘Megha’ fame), actress Indraja Sankar (of ‘Bigil’ fame), VJ Parvathy (of ‘Cook with Comali’ fame), actress Sanjana Singh (of ‘Renigunta’ fame), actress Vanitha Vijaykumar (contestant of ‘Bigg Boss’ Tamil), actress Sri Reddy, actor Nanda (of ‘Mounam Pesiyadhey’ fame), actress Vijayalakshmi (of ‘Chennai 28’ fame), comic actress Vidyullekha Raman, Mr. India Gopinath Ravi, actor John Vijay (of ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’ fame) and actor Vikranth (brother of Thalapathy Vijay), amongst others.
It was reported earlier that actors Sivakarthikeyan, Simbu and Vishal too, had been approached to host the show, but the makers finally decided to go with Arjun, who seems a perfect fit with his action-adventure image. The actor is also known for maintaining his fit physique, all through his career of almost four decades.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Arjun is gearing up for his upcoming movie ‘Friendship’. Former cricketer Harbhajan Singh, is also foraying into showbiz with this movie, as well as Santhanam starrer ‘Dikkiloona’. Besides this, Arjun also has ‘Medhavi’ with Jiiva and the Priyadarshan movie ‘Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea’.
