The Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Anek’ directed by Anubhav Sinha gets a release date. The actor took to social media earlier this morning to announce the news. The socio-political thriller is jointly produced by Sinha’s Benaras Mediaworks and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series. Having locked the film’s release date, the makers announced that ‘Anek’ will hit screens next year on 31st March. The film is touted to be a spy thriller, set against the political backdrop of Northeast India.
Incidentally, this is the second collaboration between Khurrana and Sinha after they worked together on the 2019 film, ‘Article 15’. Like the previous crime drama, this film too will center around Khurrana’s character, who’s name was revealed to be Joshua. The actor’s first look from the film, in a new, rugged avatar had fans gushing over him. ‘Anek‘ will also see Manoj Pahwa and Raghuvir Yadav in important roles.
Ayushmann talking about the film had earlier said, “It’s only once in a while that an actor comes across a story that makes him jump out of his comfort zone. While I have always backed novel stories, ‘Anek’ pushed me to perform with a renewed zest. It’s the kind of script that drives a person to give it your all. I am so proud that we’ve made a film like this and even more fortunate that I got the chance to headline it.” The actor also mentioned that ‘Anek’ is the kind of new age cinema that he believes in and is glad to be part of the project.
